played football, Black guy walking home, killed for "no" reason)
Emmitt Till-14 yr old, born and raised in Chicago, IL,  relatives in Mississippi, in 1955 mom sent him

Take a look at the cover.
   Black youth
   White youth with fishing pole
    car in the background
    newspaper w/headlinesw
    dark background

Mississippi Trial, 1955  is historical fiction.  Told from the perspective of a white youth.
How comfortable would you be walking through a predominately white neighborhood?
Many students stated that they would carry a weapon. .   .  .    .   why?    because "they" would
be looking at me as if I didn't belong.  i would feel threatened.
